Huck® has expanded third-party approval for its mechanical fasteners with an update to their certification from the DIBt. This update is part of the Z-14.4-406 issue, with active approvals now covering a broader range of blind fasteners, as well as some mechanical lockbolts in small and large diameters. This development is game-changing for the construction industry, and helps to highlight the proven reliability of Huck® fasteners to other safety critical industries.

The Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt) is the German authority responsible for technical approvals, assessments, and certifications in the construction sector. You can find out more about the role of the DIBt in our article Why Engineers Choose DIBt Approved Lockbolts and Blind Fasteners.

Background on the Existing Approvals

Huck® fastening systems has previously held DIBt approval for Magna-Lok, Magna-Bulb, and BobTail. Read more about the previous DIBt approvals.

Benefits of DIBt Approval for Engineers and the Industry

The extension of DIBt approval for Huck® fasteners delivers tangible advantages for engineers, designers and specifiers, with a much greater selection of products available for a wider range of applications. Products which carry DIBt approval also have the benefit of:

  • Technical Verification: DIBt approval demonstrates that the mechanical fasteners have undergone comprehensive testing and evaluation for their intended use
  • Professional Acceptance: More products with documented proof of performance, reducing liability and ensuring compliance with technical standards.
  • Proven Performance in Critical Conditions: The approval highlights Huck’s ability to deliver fastening solutions with high fatigue resistance, loadbearing capacity, and long-term reliability.

The approval extension reflects Huck’s continuous focus on advancing fastening technology, and addressing the direct challenges that professionals throughout the industry face when specifying new projects.
